COMMENTS FROM KEITH COCKERILL

According to Taylor Potts, 1820 was the year when the River Wear's Keelboat Coal Trade peaked.
The Keelboat movement of Coal from Local Mines obviously declined after 1820 as overland Railway Systems developed.
