1.  Breakfast, then walk from Home in Don Gardens to Jackson's Paper Shop, via Tyne Gardens and Richardson Terrace.

2.  Collect my allocation of Morning Newspapers and head for The Drive via Victoria Road and Heworth Road.

3.  Deliver to Jackson's Customers living in  '1-147 The Drive' (Odd Nos)  and  '1-76 South Avenue'.

4.  At the Well Bank Road end of The Drive / South Avenue, deliver to '1-11 Eskdale Crescent' before crossing The Drive Main Road.

5.  Continue deliveries from '12-22' Eskdale Crescent before heading down '73-1 North Avenue  and  '152-2 The Drive' (Even Nos).

6.  Back Home to put on my uniform, pick up my School Gear and head for Washington Grammar School on Spout Lane.

7.  After School it was straight to Jackson's followed by 'Tea Time' deliveries up & down The Drive - using the same route as before.

8.  I also carried out Saturday but not Sunday deliveries.   My wages?   30 Shillings per week.   Wow!
