THE RIVER WEAR

The wonderful Victoria Bridge which once carried the main railway line from London to Edinburgh.
[ It has four large arches; the two centre arches are the biggest.  One of these crosses the river, the other is on the north side. ]

Obviously not Lambton Colliery but, with artistic licence / imagination, the grey high ground could be Pit Heaps.
[ A transfer point for coal onto River Wear keelboats.  This could be Dog Hole.  What do you think? ]
